Under SERVICES, we offer collection of any storm damage. It can be placed with branch, stem or cut side toward the street. Open Burning:

Part of the allure of autumn that many in the Midwest have come to reminisce, is the smell of burning leaves broadcasting thru the countryside. However, burning leaves and other landscape materials may be regulated thru local municipalities, as written by the Illinois Environmental Protection agency. Please see their website at epa.illinois.gov/topics/forms/air-permits/open-burning/index for further information. In the UNINCORPORATED AREAS within Palatine Township please follow the following Cook County chart to verify allowance, It can be found at cookcountyil.gov/file/739/download?token=Tk1ly3Pe. Additionally, INCORPORTED AREAS may find information from their respective municipality such as in the Village of Deer Park, villageofdeerpark.com/177/Burning-of-Leaves-Brush or the Village of Palatine, palatine.il.us/departments/fire_prevention_division/recreationalfirepitsandbonfires and the Village of Inverness at villageofinverness.org/resinfo1.

Snow and Ice Control:

Whether we receive several inches of sleet, freezing rain, graupel, snow or extreme frigid air, Palatine Township Road District is staffed and equipped to combat the diverse weather of the Chicagoland area. We have executed our salt contract in order to provide the Township with bulk treated road salt, anti-icing liquid and have outfitted our fleet with additional ice control measures. We continue to monitor weather conditions and apply the best technique to combat inclement weather.

Help us to keep your neighbors and other motorists safe by not disposing of snow into the street, a public sidewalk or even on the parkway across from your property. Properly pile the snow from your driveway on the downstream edge of roadway plowing operations and your drive. As you face your house, the left side of the driveway is the best location. This will reduce the amount of snow deposited into your driveway during the following storm events. If a mailbox has been compromised by our municipal plow truck, please notify us immediately so that a temporary mailbox may be installed for continued postal service. Finally, during the winter season we will collect pine trees that have outlasted the Christmas and New Year Holidays. INCORPORATED AREAS please check with your waste disposal carrier as they will collect your tree, usually as part of your service. If you live in the UNINCORPORATED AREAS and it is time for disposal, please place your tree with the trunk side to the curb with no bag. When weather permits, we will collect them, process and add the spoils to the composting material we offer during the warm months of the year. Please check back in April for compost availability.
