2013-02-03 Ground Hog Day Weather
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory covering the entire Chicago area until noon on Monday, February, 3rd.

“Chicago’s lackluster snow season is revving up in February’s opening days. Through the end of January the city had officially logged just 3.5 inches of snow, the lowest total ever recorded. However, that jumped to 5.8 inches Saturday as the first in a series of fast-moving “clipper” storm brought 2 to 3 inches of snow to area Friday night with O’Hare International airport officially logging 2.3 inches. More snow is on the way as another storm system packing more moisture than the Friday night storm threatens as much as 3 to 5 inches or more of snow as it sweeps across the Chicago area Sunday night and Monday. Yet another snow system could arrive on Tuesday. Another round of precipitation is expected Thursday, but an influx of milder Pacific air could bring a wintry mix of precipitation instead of all snow. Even milder weather should arrive next weekend boosting temperatures to near 40 and bringing a threat of rain.”
